I have a terrific narrative writing guideline to help kids construct really interesting stories. I will bring it to our next Lit meeting to show everyone. After fairly ordinary spelling results in the AIM testing, I have been really working on targeting spelling in my whole group and small group writnig focuses. The kids have their own spelling lists and lately we've been having weekly spelling assessment tasks. It seems to be helping kids who continue to spell high frequency and common words incorrectly. Maybe we could revisit strategies we use in the classroom and share our knowledge of how to teach spelling more effectively? Do you find this valuable?
