THE REQUEST
The request is that we each contribute at least one thing each per week to get this wiki up and running. It doesn't have to be a very involved entry - maybe just link to a really usefull website you know, or a quick recount of an activity that went really well for you, or even just a relevant photo. Any contributions you can make will help to grow the wiki.

Happy Wiki-ing!

I have a terrific narrative writing guideline to help kids construct really interesting stories. I will bring it to our next Lit meeting to show everyone. After fairly ordinary spelling results in the AIM testing, I have been really working on targeting spelling in my whole group and small group writnig focuses. The kids have their own spelling lists and lately we've been having weekly spelling assessment tasks. It seems to be helping kids who continue to spell high frequency and common words incorrectly. Maybe we could revisit strategies we use in the classroom and share our knowledge of how to teach spelling more effectively?

I know this isnt about literacy, but i just wanted to thank trish and frank for showing us the footy finals game with maths 300. i played it today with my kids (somehow by chance i had exactly 16 kids at school, which made it easy to play in 2 groups) and the kids loved the game. We could have played it all afternoon. i showed them the program on maths 300 and they enjoyed that too. they are also keen to take a game board home to be able to play with their family.
